The Vice President, Strategic Advisory Solutions (SAS), is responsible for the delivery of commercial advisory and diligence consulting services with a primary focus on real estate analysis, CMBS, agency multifamily, other commercial real estate loan underwriting and due diligence, securitized transactions, and commercial real estate consulting services. This role may manage multiple transactions with multiple clients, under tight timelines and may have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform all aspects of the due diligence and underwriting process for commercial real estate loans and transactions including analyzing property level data and guarantor financial statements, and reviewing and approving appraisals, property condition assessments and environmental reports
  • Perform site inspections (if needed), determine appropriate market comparable for property valuation and asset summary reports, and complete tenant analyses
  • Identify risks and potential mitigants for the transaction and property related issues
  • Research, analyze and summarize market and submarket information including inventory, absorption, new/proposed development, rent and vacancy trends, and cap rates
  • If borrower consents and insurance reviews are required, analyze and interpret legal documents and additional due diligence required to complete review in accordance with client standards and policies addressing appropriate provisions that warrant exception processing
  • Prepare final review and analysis deliverable (e.g. underwriting model and credit/investment committee memoranda) and present findings to an internal credit committee or client committee, if needed
  • Manage and/or support all aspects of the structuring, legal documentation and closing of approved loans with clients, co-lenders (for a combination of syndicated loans and loans with subordinate debt), the internal team and outside counsel, as needed
  • Interface with credit rating agencies and institutional investor groups 
  • Manage and/or mentor junior team members and analysts to expand their skills sets and expertise in commercial real estate and support their career growth
  • Manage/support CRE advisory projects (non-underwriting assignments) with existing and new clients, which may be in conjunction with other business lines
  • Work with the business lines within SAS (platforms and securitization) to build and manage client relationships, both existing and new clients, to increase the current volume of business and identify and solicit new business opportunities
  • Such other activities as may be assigned by your manager

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferred fields of study include Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, Business or equivalent level of education and experience
  • Minimum 6 - 8 years’ commercial real estate experience underwriting CMBS, agency multifamily or CRE balance sheet loans or Securitization strongly preferred
  • Management experience required; experience as a “manager of managers” preferred
  • Expertise in commercial real estate, due diligence process, commercial lending policies, and credit and risk management policies
  • Full understanding of property sectors (office, retail, industrial, hotel, multifamily) and their different investment characteristics and an ability to see the "big picture" in commercial real estate and capital markets finance transactions
  • High-level of proficiency in Argus strongly preferred
  • Excellent Excel and cash flow modeling skills
  • Strong business writing skills
  • Moderate level of knowledge of CMBS, balance sheet and construction underwriting, Agency underwriting, AUP and the securitization business to identify new opportunities for growth with existing clients and new clients the firm
  • Understanding of deal pricing and profitability that contributes to the financial success of SAS and the firm
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple teams and projects

The annual full time base salary range for this role is

$115,000.00 - $125,000.00

Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K; in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
