This position is supervisory and has direct reports. This role is responsible for overseeing a team(s) of asset managers focused on the management of a portfolio of highly complex commercial real estate loans. Provide a high level of loan surveillance support to clients by monitoring and reporting on property level cash flows, rent rolls, market conditions and property valuations for a nationwide portfolio of loans across all types of commercial real estate property types, including Construction Loans. The incumbent is expected to mentor staff, develop and present solutions to address and resolve performance issues, and represent the company through client interactions. This position requires a strong command of loan underwriting and loan valuation as it relates to most property types with the ability to handle all transaction types without input from senior management.

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee staff assigned to perform periodic asset reviews, reserve and construction draw reviews and other credit functions related to asset management; determine servicing requirements and key requirements as needed.    
  • Oversee asset management specific training for new hires and contribute to the design of content for continued education and required training hours for all asset management personnel.
  • Oversee task allocation and staffing utilization for all client dedicated and pooled asset management personnel to ensure equitable distribution of labor while maintaining a high level of quality deliverables to clients.
  • Ensure tasks assigned to asset management personnel are completed timely and adhere to all internal control requirements, audit standards and client requirements.
  • Ensure asset management personnel receive regular feedback on performance, goal achievement and professional development.
  • Possess Excel skills sufficient to perform vlookup, pivot and other functions to understand and reconcile data. 
  • Demonstrate and encourage continuous process evaluation to identify ways to improve efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.  Draft related processes and procedures as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret legal documents associated with asset management, including loan documents and servicing agreements.
  • Perform QC on completed work products and communicate feedback as needed.
  • Stay abreast of changes in industry standards.
  • Monitor Portfolio Performance through review of Watch List, delinquency, and maturing loan report.
  • Manage Investor and Borrower relationships.
  • Re-underwrite and value commercial real estate assets for placement onto warehouse lines determining whether the assets meet the criteria established for placement on the line.
  • Make recommendations in connection with borrower requested transactions.
  • Manage infrastructure relationships: team/collaborative approach in accomplishing objectives
  • Such other activities as may be required in the normal course of business, or as assigned by management.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Real Estate/ management, or combination of education and/or experience strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 12+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically with 2+ years in a VP level role or external equivalent
  • Experience in real estate, REO resolutions and workout strategies
  • Experience in understanding real estate valuation methodology, analyzing income and expense rates and property valuation
  • Relevant management experience preferred
  • Proven experience with tenant and borrower level credit overviews
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong analytical abilities, good judgment, strategic and process thinking

Special Requirements:

  • The employee may be required to report to a different local office as a normal, contemplated, and mandated incident of their employment

  • Overnight traveling involving onsite visits with current and potential clients (5%)

  • Office environment with frequent computer, mouse, keyboard use
  • Alternating between sitting or standing as needed
  • Hearing, talking, reaching, grasping

The annual full time base salary range for this role is

$200,000.00 - $250,000.00

Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K; in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
